Hi,
I downloaded the pdf file
but I do not see how to give this option to a user I already created?
can you tell me how to make this message go away and let the user customize the emails?
Nagios XI notification handlers are not defined for this account. XI notification handlers must be defined in the Core Config Manager for customized notification settings.
Management of notification preferences is not available for your account. Contact your Nagios XI administrator for details
thank you

Customer Notification per user
Re: Customer Notification per user
To fix the "Nagios XI notification handlers are not defined for this account." error, go to the CCM > Contacts > <your contact> Edit > Alert Setting tab, and click on Manage Host Notification Commands and Manage Service Notification Commands buttons to add a notification handler. For more info, see this document: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf.
As far as customizing emails, each user can click on his/her username in the upper-right corner, then click on "Notification Messages" under the "Notification Options" menu on the left, and modify the host/service alerts.
Let us know if you have any more questions. Thank you!

Re: Customer Notification per user
Actually, that failed because I had already added notification commands to the account (notify host by email, and notify service by email)
I had created the contact on the fly and not though admin users, so I deleted the user, and added it by the admin add users and added the notification options in the contact and that failed.
So I compared my personal account and this other account, and noticed that even though I could customize my emails, I had no notification commands
I then went to another of our XI boxes and removed the notification commands from this account, and that allowed me to configure emails
I then went to a 3rd XI installation where I had created the contact, but not the user login. I created the user login, and tested, and was not able to customize emails
So i went into the contacts and removed the notification commands and I was able to customize the emails as that user
but thank you for the help

Re: Customer Notification per user
We always recommend creating xi users, who are also contacts in Nagios XI (by going to Admin > Manage Users > Add New User). This would eliminate many of the notification/customization issues. The xi users and contacts are similar but NOT the same. You can create or break relationships between them when needed. Please read more on the topic here:
