Where is the parent attributes for service objects?

Post by tyrant2424 »

It seems that we cannot set the "parent" attribute for service objects in Nagios XI. Why? It's a vaild attribute for service objects in core.

@tyrant2424, This directive hasn't been around for very long. It was added in the Core version 4. We probably will add it in the future XI release, but in a meantime, you can use a static config option.

Yeah I tried that, but static defs cannot be used in the CCM.

Ideally we want to set parents for service templates, then use them in service definitions, but this looks impossible with XI.

Service dependency objects are OK, but sort of fragile.

Adding an option to set the "parents" directive in the CCM is on our todo list but there is no exact ETA/timeframe on this task as of now. That's why, placing the configs in the static directory would be your only option at the moment.
