Feature Request: Report date range customization

It would be nice to be able to make a permanent list of "custom" date ranges for reports. We find ourselves looking at the past 7 days (not "this week" or "last week") frequently for a particular set of reports. Rather than having to select "Custom" then use the calendar selector, it would be great if we could create/edit/delete custom date ranges from the GUI somewhere. Something like:

today-7:today for the past 7 days
today-8:today-1 for the past 7 days starting yesterday
month-1:today for the start of last month through today

Barring that, can the date ranges be exposed once someone has selected "previous month" (or another option) so one could just use the calendar selector to go back a month (for instance) while leaving the end date alone?

Inquiring minds want to know. Lazy minds want someone else to figure it all out while we eat pizza.

Followup question: What's the preferred method for asking for new/improved features these days?

Basically post here. We run all requests by a panel to yay/nay it, then sort them from there. If nay we will usually follow up with why it was declined.
