Monitoring Cisco Firepower 4100 Series Firewall

Post by sathevaner »

I'm not having much success in searching for how to configure monitoring of a Cisco Firepower 4100 Series FTD appliance. Are there step-by-step instructions I can follow in doing this?

If you have SNMP enabled on the Firewall, you can use the Network Switch / Router Wizard to monitor the device's network port status and Bandwidth.
To do that, go to the Configure > Configuration Wizards menu and search for the wizard.
Then all you have to do is fill in the fields, IP address, community string, SNMP version and continue on with the Wizard.

If you are looking for something else, let us know what it is and we can see if there is a solution for you.

@tgriep: what I'm seeking are instructions specifically for the model of firewall I named. I have been unsuccessful in finding documentation for it. It is not the same as an ASA firewall.

@scottwilkerson: I will clarify further.

I am seeking Nagios instructions specifically for the model of firewall I named. I have been unsuccessful in finding documentation for this model. It is not the same as an ASA firewall.

Do these instructions exist?

No they do not.

We do not have specific instructions for every piece of equipment from every vendor (very few that are specific). Even so we do include wizards that cover types of equipment (such as the Network Switch/Router previously mentioned), but what you monitor on any particular piece of equipment is up to you the end user.
