Version Upgrade Question

Post by donnyforbes »

This is the first time I am upgrading. I did run the backup from the web and verified that the .tar.gz file is in the correct location.
When getting ready to do the upgrade it says something about this.

: The pop-up warns you again to back up any edited files which you do not want to be overwritten and
clarifies that components are not overwritten unless they are core XI components

What exactly does this mean? How can I verify if this will affect me or not? Please clarify this for me.

Thanks

That is a warning stating that if you modified any wizards, components or plugins, they will be over written with the default settings.

If you did not edit any of the above, you should be safe to upgrade the system.

the only thing I have in place is some scripts that were custom. Will it affect those?

It should not affect those scripts as long as you did not over write the default plugins or commands with your custom scripts.

no I don't think we did. Is there a way to verify this easily?

There is not an easy way to go through all of the commands, templates, etc. on the system.
