New Contact Not Receiving Notifications

Good afternoon!

I've got a new user and I've configured him in Nagios twice now. The first time was from scratch, and the second time I copied an existing, functional user's contact and changed the name and e-mail address. I copied the e-mail address from our Exchange server management console, too, just to be sure there was no typo in the e-mail. Everyone else for this person gets the expected notifications, but he gets none of them. I don't see any reason for it, and I'm not really sure where to look. It doesn't appear to be getting blocked (or even making it) Exchange.

I've verified the e-mail address, the alerts on the second tab are turned on, they're assigned to a 24/7 profile, and still nothing. Is there some other trick I'm currently unaware of for making this work? I've also tried specifying this user directly, rather than through an associated contact group, to no avail.

Any assistant in troubleshooting this would be great.

Hi, @spperry. There're a few things you should check for:
1. When you create a new user, the contact with the same name should get created automatically.
2. Email needs to be filled out in both, the contact and the username(Admin/Users).
3. Make sure that the new contact is using the same notification command as the other contacts.
4. Sign in to XI as the new user and make sure that these settings are enabled:

Found it. The e-mail field under user wasn't populated for some reason. Does the contact e-mail not override the user e-mail? Good information to know. I appreciate the quick response on this.

Not if you are using the XI notification handler, these only use the email in the user preferences.
