Read-Only User with Access Only to Specific Hosts/Services

Post by spperry »

Good morning,

I'm looking for a way to have a non-admin read-only user that has rights to see only specific hosts and services in Nagios XI (based on AD account). Is this possible? I've seen posts for read-only users, but nothing definitive. If this is in the documentation and I just missed it, if you can refer me to the location in it, that would be great, as well.

Any information or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Note: If this can/should be done in Fusion rather than Nagios XI directly, information on that would be good, too. I just don't see in Fusion, either, how to limit what a person sees.

On XI, a standard user only has access to see hosts and services they are contacts for, nothing else (unless given can see all privileges).

If the user has access to see the host, the user can see all of the hosts services.

Is it read-only, though? I want to make sure these people can only see and not change anything. I just want to make sure the permissions are correct, so I apologize if I'm missing something. Thanks!

Ohhhh sorry, I somehow missed read-only in the title.
Go to Admin -> Manage Users -> Edit user
Check ONLY the box "Has read-only access"
Save
