Hi there,
Lately we have faced a several problems with Nagios and its speed. It takes too much time to get into the terminal of Nagios and, as Nagios is a VM in VMware Esx 6.5, we end it rebooting Nagios from VMware. The information that we know is that the partition assigned from VMware is almost full and doen't give its memory to the Swap memory, and the I/O wait is too high.
We have two possible solutions but we need your feedback and evaluations to see wich one is the bes solution.
-Reinstall Nagios in the VMware with less resources so there is more memory for Swap.
-Install Nagios in a physic device.
I will wait for the information you request.

Re: Problem with Nagios Performance
If you are battling I/O wait problems already, I strongly urge you to use a physical device as you will hit the same issue when other VM's on the hypervisor use all the disk I/O again.neo_infraestructura wrote:-Install Nagios in a physic device.
Even better would be a physical device with SSD for hard drive.
