Converting Machine Image

Post by mordruu »

I have installed the VMWare Standalone Converter and I am attempting to convert the newly downloaded NagiosXI image file to ESX file to run Nagios on a VMWARE Server and I get an error. "The VMWare Consolidate Backup source has a missing catalog file" . I am pointing to the file nagiosxi.vmx. I have watched the tutorial and of course they dont get that error and I have search the forum for "missing catalog file" with no luck. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here.

At the moment we're not able to replicate this issue.

Perhaps try and boot the VM using their player and then upload it?

If that doesn't work, you may need to ask VMWare if their software isn't creating a catalog file.

Is there anything with your environment that might be different from the typical single server ESX3i deployment?

I was finally successful when I downloaded another copy of the NagiosXI VM install files.
