Downgrade to Nagios 5.4.13

Post by itadmins »

We recently upgraded to 5.5 and have been having some issues. We would like to downgrade back to our previous version. Is it possible to provide directions on how to transfer license files and configuration files as we would like to move the install from a virtual machine to a physical machine. We will upgrade once the next version of nagios comes out as 5.5 has broken our http check for ntlm and some other weird behavior.

You can restore from a backup - https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf. First install the 5.4.13 and then restore per the documentation.

When we upgraded to 5.5, does it automatically do a local backup?

We have this listed and i believe this is the day we did the backup 2018-06-29 08:18:46 autoupgrade_backup.1530274500.tar.gz 445.61 MB

I just did an upgrade on our test server and it says Upgrade did not complete successfully, but in terminal shows upgrade complete.

How can you tell if upgrade was successful? Would I be better off to wait before upgrading to 5.5?

Attached screenshot of what shows after upgrade.

@smcdonald - The error you see is a minor one that can be ignored if it shows 5.5 in the web UI. This is unrelated to the thread though so if you have any further questions(and going forward do not update existing threads with unrelated questions/issues) please open a new thread.

This can be closed out. I have successfully installed and restored settings for 5.4.13. All is now working well. Thanks again for all your help.
