Running Red Hat 7, 64bit. Attempting to install a fresh instance of Nagios XI 5.5 for testing.
In 5.4.13 tar file, there was an uninstall_xi.sh file in the Linux tar under nagiosxi/nagiosxi/basedir/scripts.
In 5.5.0 tar file, the uninstall_xi.sh filecp doesn't exist.
Also, when attempting to offload the DB on a fresh install of Nagios XI 5.5.0, I get to page 13 and the file for /var/www/html/nagiosql/config/settings.php is not present. The only thing that exists in /var/www/html is index.php

Re: Issues with 5.5.0 and offloading MySQL database
That is correct the decision was made to remove that file, because of the way Nagios XI installations are almost never the same it is a nisnomer to say it is going to uninstall Nagios XI.hbouma wrote:In 5.4.13 tar file, there was an uninstall_xi.sh file in the Linux tar under nagiosxi/nagiosxi/basedir/scripts.
In 5.5.0 tar file, the uninstall_xi.sh filecp doesn't exist.
Furthermore, it was worse than that in that it deleted some applications that are often shared with others, so if an XI server was ever used for something in addition to XI the script could be destructive to that application as well
Correct, we are in the process of updating some documentation that has slightly different procedures for XI 5.5.0.hbouma wrote: Also, when attempting to offload the DB on a fresh install of Nagios XI 5.5.0, I get to page 13 and the file for /var/www/html/nagiosql/config/settings.php is not present. In this case, page 13 can be skipped on 5.5.0 installations but are still relevant for earlier versions.
Re: Issues with 5.5.0 and offloading MySQL database
Is there an ETA as to when the new documents will be published?
Also, as someone new to Nagios, is it normal to expect that there is a delay between when a new version comes out and when the documents get published?

I would expect this doc next week.
Typically they are published shortly after release, however there was an extenuating circumstance in this particular doc that needed to be addressed that wasn't caught until just before publish time.

I know the DB offloading document is being updated.
Will the document for uninstalling Nagios XI also be updated? https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf

Nagios XI is designed to not share a server and the only full removal would in fact be to reinstall the OShbouma wrote: Will there be an updated document with uninstall instructions for Nagios XI?
