Better MRTG Integration

Post by arnab.roy »

Hi Guys,

I have feature request I know I should put this on tracker, but thought would see how the team and other users feel, considering situation where you had 30 switches being monitored and want to remove all or any kind of changes you would have to manually go and hack the mrtg.cfg file. As XI is an enterprise product I think it would be good to have something like nagiosql where the cfg can be generated from a db / webui. Any feedbacks or thoughts welcome.

Cheers

Funny you should mention it, we're actually working on a new wizard that would do away with the need for MRTG altogether, so that the checks just run individually, they're schedule by Nagios, and can be removed by Nagios. It's also come up in the last week about how to properly remove items from the mrtg.cfg for backwards compatibility, and that's definitely an item we also feel needs to be addressed. Adding a tracker item isn't all bad, it keeps an issue from falling off our radar ; )
