Re-Configure Host Bug

Post by REFan »

We updated to 5.5.1 this week so maybe this created some issues. I see that if I click on a service and try to edit the service I no longer have the options to adjust thresholds or monitoring settings. Instead I get the page pointing to the CCM which we had in the past when we have one service that applies to multiple hosts but now it seems like all services do this.
When I click on a host and go to edit the host I get the standard page with the tabs to change attributes, monitoring, notifications, host groups, and parents but a lot of the fields are blank. Address field, the monitoring values like check minutes, host groups selected, and host parents selected are all empty. If I make changes here then Nagios fails to apply config so I have to make these changes in CCM.
Is this something other people are seeing?

Hello, @REFan! When you click to on the edit service button and after it takes you to the CCM, are you still able to change thresholds in $ARG1$ and $ARG2$ fields?
To answer your second question. No, those fields should not get empty after the update. Sounds like a DB corruption.

Please send in your Nagios XI System Profile indicating names of services that had problems.

Thanks for the support. I am able to adjust thresholds from the CCM but there is definitely an issue with the other menu. I sent you the profile.zip in a private message but I can send a different way if necessary.

@REFan, Thanks! I reported this bug to the Dev team. This issue seems to be present on XI 5.5 that were upgraded from older versions. We haven't seen this issue on brand new installs.

Oh interesting. Do you know if this is an issue with 5.5.2 also? Not a major functionality issue right now but forces us to use the CCM to make service or host changes. Thank you for digging into this.

@REFan, Yeah, I believe this is also an issue on 5.5.2 systems. The problem with this issue is that not everyone gets it and not on every install/update. I'm in a process of QA testing it on different systems, and once we find out whats causing it, we'll add it to the dev queue. Keep an eye on our changelog:
