Backup and restore of SNMP Traps setup

Post by Bitflogger »

Hello,

My system is V 5.5.0, 64-bit, VM, CentOS 7.

My System Administrator wants to reprovision the server.

I am prepared with the "Backing Up And Restoring Your Nagios XI System" .pdf file, and saving a few additions to the NagiosXI cron tab, my home directory, etc.

I added SNMP Traps to the system using https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf

This involves some files that don't seem to be included in the backup. Is there advise on what to save, like /etc/snmp files, or start over from nothing?

Thanks!

To backup the SNMP Trap configurations and MIB files, all you would have to do is make a backup of the files and subfolders for the following 2 directories.

Code: Select all

/etc/snmp
/usr/share/snmp/mibs
You can then transfer those files to another server to restore the Trap settings on the new server.
