Huge difference between performance graph and report graph

Post by krscibeta »

Hi,

I am currently using Nagios XI version 5.4.13 in trial. I noticed that there is huge difference in term of value, between performance graph and capacity planing report graph.

For instance I am monitoring bandwidth, in the performance graph I see a value of 21998 kb/s

and in the report graph at the same "moment" value of only 5766 kb/s.

Also notice that there is a 28 minutes difference between the two graphs.
So, do you have any idea why it's happening and if there is any solution?

Thanks in advance,
best regards.

The Capacity Planning graph is going to look at a compressed average, the longer of time period you select the more it will average the values, and will only show granularity in smaller increments such as every 30 or 60 minutes.

This is especially so in Capacity Planning because it requires at least a 1 week view, which will have a granularity of 30 minutes.

This is normal and part of how RRD files work when looking back over a longer period of time.
