Host/Service Escalation and LDAP not working since update

Hello Community,

since the Update to Nagios 5.5.2 the Service and Host Escalations are not working anymore for me just like adding LDAP Users. Has anyone else experienced this too?

I can send Test-Emails over the GUI and get an entry in /usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp/phpmailer.log, but if a Host goes down or a Service there is no Email sent or Entry written.

The 5.5.3 release just came out on Tuesday and includes an updated Core release that fixes some known issues with notifications and state changes that could impact escalations(https://www.nagios.org/projects/nagios- ... story/4x/0. I would recommend upgrading for this reason.

I'm not aware of any LDAP issues, but if the update doesn't fix this, please post some details and we can take a closer look.

I upgraded Nagios XI as recommended to 5.5.3. Sadly no change in the Escalation Notifications via E-Mail.
Sending Emails from Nagios XI works. So it isn't the Mail Server. When creating a user, or sending Tests Mails, these are sent out and received.

Notifications are enabled for all services and Hosts. But no Messages are sent out.
Under Notifications an Entry is written in Nagios XI.

Nagios XI was installed as VM from a VMware Image and updated manually now three times. Never with Errors.
What Information do you need exactly?

Regarding the LDAP Problem, adding Users only works when creating the User manually and setting him up as LDAP User. Over the search LDAP Tree Nagios XI completely hangs itself up.

Please PM us a profile(Admin > System Config > System Profile > Download System Profile) along with the name of the host/service escalations.

For the ldap issue - what type of ldap server is being used? Microsoft, edirectory, freeipa ? https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/a ... n-600.html has some steps to troubleshot and gather logs. Please go through it and if it doesn't help resolve the problem, a new forum thread should be opened with any collected data so we don't muddy things up on this thread.
