Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
Hi,i've this situation:
a Router Group with a recurrent downtime,from 21.00 to 07.00 every day
For every router in the Router Group i've a Host Dependencies, the router is the 'master' and an host in another group is the 'slave'
Is this configurations functional?
Because i've some problems with the notifications of the hosts and i suspect i'd have to cancel the downtime for the 'master' (router)

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
Nothing about that?
Is it possible to have an host that depend from a router that have a downtime?
I'd receive notification when the host is down, the router is up but in downtime.

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
I think that with recurring downtime that you'd need to put the children in the recurring downtime as well.
When you do just scheduled downtime (Home > Scheduled Downtime) it does give you the option to select triggered or non-triggered downtime for the child hosts but recurring downtime doesn't have that functionality built in that I can see.

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
I've requested a feature be added for this:
Code: Select all
FR: XI - Add Child Hosts functionality from Scheduled Downtime to Recurring Downtime so child hosts can be automatically put into downtime as well-

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
Ok thanks, so i can't do nothing for this now.
Strange behavior anyway..
2.10 host (slave) goes down, got email
2.11 router (master) goes down, no email because it's in downtime
2.12 host goes up, no email..because the master is in downtime
2.16 router goes up, no email because it's in downtime
i think there isnt a solution.. : (

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
What version of XI are you running? I know there were some bugs fixed that were related in the last couple of releases.

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
Yeah, you'll need to schedule downtime for the child hosts as well until the developers implement that functionality into recurring downtime.

Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
Ok, thanks, but i need that the child host will never be in downtime..
Re: Host relationship and recurrent downtime problem
Ok, unfortunately I don't have a solution for you at this point until the developers implement that functionality.
