Nagios Daemon issue - restarting process

Hello,
We have open a case on Nagios Support, but we would to understand this issue.

This morning the nagios server has been updated with 5.5.4 ( 5.4.11 -->5.5.4) and now the nagios daemon restarting every 5 minutes with the following message: "Nagios Pid file not found"

What seems to be the problem ?
