PHP 5.4 -> PHP 7.2

Post by SteveBeauchemin »

My IT Security people provided me an analysis of vulnerabilities from my Nagios core server. The latest scan list is 95% php related.

I would like to use the yum remi repo and move to PHP 7.2 for Nagios XI.

What is the latest news about this? Are we good to go now? I recall that this was being worked last year.

Please advise.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

We support base installations of Red Hat and CentOS, and this allows customers to easily upgrade future versions of Nagios XI. Regarding the security audit, please read the statements from Red Hat and CentOS related to backporting and security patches below:

https://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/General
https://access.redhat.com/security/updates/backporting

I discussed this with our tech support team, and it's possible to upgrade to PHP 7.2 and has been done, but generally not recommended.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
