Nagios Core Upgrade

Post by GaleBluntschly »

I have recently started a new position with a company and they use Nagios Core to monitor the network. We are 3.5.1 and there is an upgrade available. I have never used Nagios before and was interested in how the upgrades go and what's all involved. What problems people usually happen if any. Lastly if we should switch over to Nagios XI. I appreciate all your input.

Thank You,
Gale

Yes, the latest stable version is 4.4.2. Please make a backup of your installation and configuration files before upgrading. You can download it here:

Instructions for upgrading Nagios Core can be found here:

Nagios Xi uses core as the monitoring engine, and you can migrate your previous core configuration files. We have a migration guide for moving from Nagios core to Nagios Xi.

Lastly, we have quite a few videos covering the whole product line. If you'd like to learn more about Nagios XI, please check out some of our videos.
