Not able to add action component

Post by dclarke »

The following message is displayed in the "Manage Components" window:

Project-Id-Version: Nagios XI with Addons Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: POT-Creation-Date: 2012-11-05 15:39-0600 PO-Revision-Date: 2012-11-05 15:40-0600 Last-Translator: Language-Team: Nagios Enterprises MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Poedit-KeywordsList: gettext X-Poedit-Basepath: . I cannot delete this entry. I do know where this entry is coming from.

Has anyone seen this before ?

Not sure what link you used to download the component, but the following would be the correct URL
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ctions.zip

I used the following incorrect URL
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ctions.zip

I did not realize the version was necessary
I will now use the correct link

I was able to successfully download the zip file however I am still not able to see or use the component in the "Admin/Manage Components" page.

The following item is still displayed as an entry in the "Manage Components" window:

Project-Id-Version: Nagios XI with Addons Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: POT-Creation-Date: 2012-11-05 15:39-0600 PO-Revision-Date: 2012-11-05 15:40-0600 Last-Translator: Language-Team: Nagios Enterprises MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Poedit-KeywordsList: gettext X-Poedit-Basepath: . ****NEWS*** ==> I have found the source of this text.
/usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/lang/locale/ru_RU/LC_MESSAGES/ru_RU.po

I am not sure why this information is listed as a component entry.

Is there anywhere in the Nagios domain where the "LOCALE" Can be configured?

NOTE: Further review of the The /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components directory shows the "Actions" component was properly installed.

This is a very strange suituatiuon.

Could you show where this is being displayed? there should be no reason you should ever see the output of language files in the UI.

Have you added any other components recently?

I tried to install the action component. The UI said installation was successful but the action component does not show in item list.

Lets click the red X next to all of that text, I honestly am not sure how that got there or what it is.

Hopefully after doing so it will show all of the other components you are missing as there should be about 30 of them that are pre-installed.

Thank you for your response !

I have tried many times , clicking the red X, thinking I could delete this entry; attempts to Remove this entry have failed. Interestingly enough, I am able to remove the "Action URL" item

I am going to re-install NAGIOS and See if I Get the same result ; Stay Tuned ....

This sounds like the best course of action.

after three (3) re-installations, I think this issue has resolved. ( I dropped the nagiosxi database and user )

Still do not know the root cause ...
