NRPE on windows server 2003 onwards

Post by PerfEngg »

Hello Team ,

we are using Nagios for monitoring our infrastructure , we use Nagios Remote Plugin Executor for monitoring remote windows host resources like CPU , memory , Disk-space and services , "Nagios Remote Plugin Executor" ( nrpe_nt.0.8b-bin )" installed on windows 2003 server , we are on the process of migrating w2k3 server , we noticed that nrpe_nt.0.8b-bin plugin on windows 2008 or windows 2012 server giving lot of vb script error and we NRPE support forum is not active , anybody out there using "Nagios Remote Plugin Executor" ( nrpe_nt.0.8b-bin )" installed on windows server 2008 or 2012 which monitors remote windows resources from Nagios ?

Thanks,
Ramesh

nrpe_nt is a 3rd party agent. It's not developed or maintained by us (Nagios), and it is not officially supported. Also, it seems that it hasn't been actively developed. The last release date (as listed on the Nagios Exchange is 2006-02-16). The last update (as listed on sourceforge) was 2013-10-15...

I would recommend that you switch to a different agent, e.g. NCPA.

Sure, we will leave the topic open for a while in case someone, using the nrpe_nt agent decides to chime in, and share his/her experience.
