I believe I read somewhere that xi_host_notification_handler does not work with Contacts (only with users). Is this true? If so, why? Which command do I need to use for Contacts?
Recently updated my contact template to use xi_host_notification_handler and now we're no longer receiving email notifications. Recalled seeing the above somewhere but can't find it.

Re: xi_host_notification_handler / Contacts
Hi, @rkane. xi_host_notification_handler command works with contacts, but it requires each contact that is using this notification command to have a corresponding user account.
Also, in order for this command to work you need to enable email notifications in Notification Preferences and Notification Methods menus. Take a look at the user notification configuration section in this tutorial (page #2).

Re: xi_host_notification_handler / Contacts
When an XI user is created it will typically create and link to a corresponding CCM contact, but a CCM account on its own will lack the ability to hook into the same notification options as an XI account. https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... Mailer.pdf has some information and steps that can be taken so you don't have to maintain a separate email configs for XI users and CCM contacts.
