Can someone explain why the host groups always show out of order?
I need the host groups to be in a specific order for a product called xmatters.
For instance I have host groups Windows Servers, Windows Servers Performance, Client Services
I need Client Services to be the first thing in the list, but it always adds Windows Servers, Windows Servers Performance first.
Secondly, someone the previous Admin seemed to tie Specific server checks to a host group, which I cannot seem to find documentation on. If I need to change this is that possible?
Host Groups
Re: Host Groups
The hostgroups should be sorted alphabetically by hostgroup_name, not alias. Can you show us a screenshot of the "Host Group Status" page? Is this the place where hostgroups are not sorted properly?
Maybe you are talking about the REST API? Let us know where you see the issue.

Re: Host Groups
I added a photo, basically I want the KHIT to be the first in the list of hostgroups.
My reasoning for this is xmatters fires alerts and based on host group, it defaults to windows-Servers because its first in the list. In xmatters there is no group called Windows-Servers, only KHIT, so the alerts never get assigned properly.

Re: Host Groups
Hello. @wjoyner.
If certain contacts are not receiving email notifications for a host please send in the system profile+give me the names of contacts(email addresses) and the host name.
This shouldn't be the case. If a host is assigned to multiple hostgroups each hostgroup should have it listed under members. Also, hostgroups don't store any settings for notifications. Notifications are defined per each host/service or under XI contacts settings. My reasoning for this is xmatters fires alerts and based on host group, it defaults to windows-Servers because its first in the list.
