NSClient++ Upgrade Document

Post by hoegh »

Hi Team,

Currently we are using NSClient++ version 0.3.9.xx. We want to upgrade the it to its latest version.
But when we tested the Latest NSClient++ agent on test server, we faced lots of issues with current commands which are being used in Nagios config.
It seems we need to reconfigure all the services & hosts in Nagios after upgrading NSClient++ agent, also we need to enhance skills in NSClient++.
So we are expecting any document or source from where we can get help in commands & using Nsclient++ latest version with Nagios XI.

Also we want Document/User guide of NCPA, we want to compare both the Nagios agent & will implement/update accordingly.

Please suggest us from where we can get help on this.

Thanks & Regards

Hi, @hoegh. NSCLient is a third party product and they have their own documentation:
https://docs.nsclient.org/
A lot of the times you can find references to the older commands that they no longer support and possible replacements.

If you send me your old nsc.ini file I can go over it and update some settings to work with the new version of the NSClient. Also, let me know which particular commands started to fail after you upgraded the nsclient.

@hoegh, Sounds good. If you encounter any problems please send in the nsclient.ini file + nsclient.log file.
