Adding a new service to an existing host

Post by allanz »

Hi,
I recently installed and configured Nagios XI on Linux and I start adding hosts Infra monitoring. I follow the wizard to add Liunx server and then now I want to go back to the existing host to add extra services ( or monitor extra processes), I found this topic URL is https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=35028

However, this is not helping me the instructions make sense but based on what I saw when using CCM doesn't allow me to another process
And also I spent hours to see how do I go back to wizard so I can fix the existing host, would great if we can re-configure ( re-run the wizard on existing host)

Nagios XI does let you run the wizards again to add services. The only thing you want to make sure us that the host name specified exactly matches what was specified the first time.

Thanks Scott, I added services manually and I can see them in existing host, then I decided to copy the same contents in another host just to save time (and not adding them manually).
I modified the hosts under /usr/local/nagios/etc/services/hostsxxx but its not taking effect i don't see changes happening in the GUI.
Any idea why please?
I did restart nagios services

Okay this is resolved for me now
I was missing to import the config Files from into DB.
