Nagios XI stops monitoring everyday at the same hour

Hi all,

After updating to the latest version of Nagios XI, it stops monitoring all devices everyday at the same time.
This nagios installation is running on a host running ESXi 6.5. No backup nor snapshot operations are running on the host .
From the Nagios machine i am able to ping all devices on the same vlan and not any other device on other vlans.
After rebooting the nagios xi server, all gets back to normal.

What can i check or verify to troubleshoot the issue?

Hi @Rodrigo,

We haven't seen this happening with other updates, what is that system status when the monitoring stops? Is the monitoring engine and database backend up and running?

Is there any other software running on the server that could interfere with Nagios XI processes? Also, can you PM me a system profile so I can review your system logs for errors.

To send us your system profile. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and upload it to a cloud storage of your choice. You can share a link with me in a personal message.
After you upload the profile please post something in this thread to bring it up in the support queue.

Hi Benjamin,

The system status is all green when it stops.
On the ESXi host there are some other virtual machines, on the nagios server there is nothing more than the nagios xi itself.

@psasines, I don't see anything outstanding in the profile except for the very small amount of Ram. Consider increasing it to 4-8GB. If after increasing the RAM, if nagios stops again please send us another system profile before restarting the server. That way we'll have a better chance of catching errors that caused it to crash.

I have doubled the memory for the Nagios machine.
If the issue occurs again, i will re-open the case.

Our Nagios XI server is still losing conection to others vLans in our LAN.
Can send the log??

@psasines, Sure, please do. Although this sounds like a networking issue rather than an issue with Nagios.
But if you send in your system profile one more time I will make sure that everything is OK on the Nagios side.
