nagios plug in help

Post by bmccarty12 »

I'm adding a plug-in to my nagios configuration, this is my first attempt to do so. All seemed to go fine, I can see it listed under Service Management in the Nagios Core Config Manager. The problem is when I go back to the Service Status page and look at All Services, it's not listed in there. Any idea what I need to do to make it appear there ? I feel like I must have missed a step somewhere.

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Scott. I clicked on "Apply Configuration" in the nagios core config manager. Got the message "Success! Nagios Core was restarted with an updated configuration".

Still no luck though with it showing up on the Service Status page. Also I ended up rebooting after applying some OS updates and the problem still exists.

Thanks for the assistance.

Did you just add a plugin, or did you also create a service that is using the plugin?

You will need to do that as well...

Configure -> CCM -> Services -> Add New

Just Verified and yes it is listed under CCM --> services. The sync status is "synced"

Does it have a host selected? If so can you find it from the quick find on the home page?

Can you find this service from the Nagios XI home page when you type its name in the "Quick Find" search bar?
Did you follow our documentation on managing plugins in Nagios XI?

I wasn't able to find the service in the "quick find" search bar. I went back and looked at the service in the Config manager and I saw that no host was listed. I tried to add the proper host again, and it still didn't work. I then switched from Chrome to IE and adding the host worked successfully. Everything is working for me now.

Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction here.
