Hello Team,
We have some activity on around 300 servers on every Thursday between 2 AM to 4 AM UKT. During the activity, the application team does not want any alerts from Nagios. So we created a host group for those servers and scheduled a recurring downtime for the same.
We had that weekly activity today, recurring downtime started at 2 AM UKT and stopped at 4 AM UKT.
The problem is, Nagios sent alerts for the DOWNTIMESTART and DOWNTIMEEND for all the servers and there were a number of alerts coming.
Do we have option to suppress those alerts as well?
Is there a way where we schedule recurring downtime and Nagios should not send a single alert during the activity?
Below is one of the example:
***** Nagios Monitor XI Alert *****
Notification Type: DOWNTIMEEND
Host: EU1RCSW001
State: UP
Address: 10.148.1.15
Info: OK - 10.148.1.15: rta 0.189ms, lost 0%

Re: Recurring downtime issue
This is a per user setting if they want to receive downtime notifications. To disable:
Click the username (upper right)
Click Notification Preferences
uncheck Host Downtime & Service Downtime
Click Update Settings
