What did you try in order to install the plugins? What error messages did you get or what went wrong? What version of Red Hat are you using?

My operating system is Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3
CPU Intel (R) Xeon (TM) 3.00Ghz
RAM 4G

I just try to install the plugins pack mentioned in the basic installation tutorials, I'm new at this.
The pc does not give any error message during the installation process. The PC just shuts down.
The version I have installed nagios is nagios-3.4.1 and version of the plugin pack is 1.4.15

What am I doing wrong? Why the PC stops working when trying to install the plugins?

thanks for replying

That actually sounds like a hardware issue to me. Compiling the plugins is fairly CPU intensive and it may be overheating your system. If that's the case, then the BIOS would shut down the system to avoid damaging your hardware. I would check your system for excess dust or bad fans before continuing.
