Hello,
We're going to be moving our Log Server repository to a new storage location that is iSCSI based. We would like to know the most efficient option when it comes to the controller that sits in between Log Server and the repository.
Currently, we're using an SMB share passed through a Windows server, but we're curious if a NIX based NAS would work better?
I found this article which is helpful, but my question is more specifc:

Thank you!
Repository storage options?
Re: Repository storage options?
A dedicated NAS device may be better given its responsibilities would typically be fewer and more tuned to disk IO than a share mounted on a Windows server. That said, I don't have any example cases to back that up. If you want to update us with any findings, others may find it useful

Re: Repository storage options?
We ended up going with a CIFS share through the same Windows servers. Unfortunately, our time frame didn't allow us to test the NAS idea.

Thanks for the update! Feel free to ping us again if you do test the NAS.
