Cannot execute binary file

I recently installed the VM with pre-installed nagios on it. I tried restarting nagios:

[nagios@localhost ~]$ service nagios restart
Running configuration check... CONFIG ERROR! Restart aborted. Check your Nagios configuration.
[nagios@localhost ~]$

I am getting following error:

[nagios@localhost ~]$ /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
-bash: /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios: cannot execute binary file
[nagios@localhost ~]$

Please advise.
