@RIDS_I2MP, The IP address of the server that this domain name should resolve to:
By creating a manual entry in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts you are telling your terminal server to use that IP address when check_http tries to resolve merch.ricoh-ecommerce-utility.com.
When you type the address in your web browser(http://www.merch.ricoh-ecommerce-utility.com) it goes to the DNS server which locates the record that points this web address to the IP address of a server that hosts it.merch.ricoh-ecommerce-utility.com
