Failover to another site with XI?

Is there any support for failing over to another site (second XI server) for XI?

The only docs I've been able to find are here:

But it is very brief and I don't know how that would work with XI?
If this is supported, is there a guide on doing so?
If not, is there any future plan for XI failover configuration?
