Good morning,
We're seeing an issue with our BPI checks.
For some reason the other day, a majority of our BPI groups when into an unknown status and would not recover. We ended up restoring our config from our second XI server to resolve the issue.
However, again yesterday one of the BPI groups went into an unknown status and a couple hours later started flapping until ultimately going back to unknown for the last 19 hours. The Status Information states, "Unknown BPI Group index". None of the services being monitored in this BPI Process are down, so we don't know why it's showing as unknown.
I quick look at the bpi.log file on this server shows numerous errors for hosts that aren't even a part of this particular BPI group, but are part of others. See log information below:

Please PM me these files:
Please PM me a copy of your profile as well, you can download it from Admin > System Profile > Download Profile.
Then go to Home > BPI > Edit BPI Settings and send me a screenshot of all your settings on that page.
Thank you!
Code: Select all
/usr/local/nagiosxi/var/components/bpi.log
/usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/components/bpi.conf
/usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/components/bpi.conf.backupThen go to Home > BPI > Edit BPI Settings and send me a screenshot of all your settings on that page.
Thank you!
Re: BPI Service Check Issue
Any luck checking into our BPI issue?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: BPI Service Check Issue
I have your configs and bpi.conf imported and I'm experiencing the same issue that you are, I'm having trouble determining what is actually invalid in the bpi.conf though.
Some questions:
Are you modifying the bpi.conf manually (either directly via the filesystem or clicking the Manually Edit Config button in Home > BPI)?
Are you manually creating/editing groups or are you using the Sync Hostgroups and Sync Servicegroups functionality only?

Re: BPI Service Check Issue
We are not modifying the bpi.conf manually as far as I am aware. Everything is being done through the console.
We typically use the Sync tool built into the console to edit the groups.
