Adding another DB
Adding another DB
is there any issue adding another small DB to the mysql running on the XI server? Would that be frowned against by support? Would upgrades to XI touch any non XI related DB?

Re: Adding another DB
The only things I would say is this:
1. Don't modify the existing nagios, nagiosql, or nagiosxi databases and you'll be fine (though be aware that I cannot guarantee it will not be impacted in the future (and you should really let support know if we're working on any DB stuff that you have these extra DBs in there so that we can account for them in any commands we send you)).
For example, say MySQL is broken and the tech tells you run some commands to backup all the nagios databases, uninstall mysql, delete the data, reinstall mysql, and reimport the nagios databases. The onus is on you to make sure you don't delete that DB and backup your DB info, the tech will not be aware of it so just make sure you do your due diligence on it.
2. Adding another DB won't hurt anything except performance and if you come to me with a performance issue caused by your new DB/whatever it's doing (or whatever is querying it) I'm going to tell you to disable it or deal with it.
Have a good weekend man, thanks for pinging us first!
