Good Day,
We are currently running a POC of Nagios XI. We have been using Nagios Core for many many years as an unofficial monitoring and alerting tool. We are running the POC as we are wanting to replace the official monitoring and alerting tool.
The only issue we have is for AIX 7.x ... there does not seem to be a supported agent. We are testing at the moment using a version that was created for AIX 5.3. If we were to go ahead with Nagios XI we would need a supported version. Is there anything happening relating to getting a supported version.
We have 160+ LPARS currently ... 600+ Linux Servers.

We only have pre-compiled binaries fro AIX 5.3, and the other option would to install NRPE from source.

If you're currently evaluating Nagios XI, I highly recommend registering for a free Quickstart at: https://www.nagios.com/services/quickstart/
as there other options available for monitoring and they can assist with the initial setup and any questions you may have.

Hello Shaun,
Just thought I'd chime in and point out that we do support NCPA for AIX 7. This is the agent that we're putting most of our development effort into going forward. NRPE still does receive maintenance as needed, but NCPA tends to work better out-of-the-box and allows us to keep features consistent between different operating systems.
