ESX VMHost Datastore Performance Capacity Graphs - No Data

Post by awilson »

Hi. We are running Nagios XI 5.4.4 and the check_esx3.pl script is 0.7.1.
The capacity planning graphs state that there is no data. Using the RRD performance data tool Box239 created, we see the data values.

Is this a known issue that is resolved in a future release? My challenge is we are switching to use a check_disk script that monitors and reports on all of the mounted filesystems. That will give us a result similar to the esx3 check script for datastores, all of the mounted drive results will be in a single performance data record.

Can we expect the capacity planning graphs and the service check performance graphs to pick up the performance data for multiple filesystems and drives?

Thanks!

There will be multiple graphs created for the disk check - one for each disk the check returns info for.

How long has the check_esx3.pl script been running? For the capacity graphs to work there must be solid data going back a bit. Do you see data in the performance graph? It's possible that on newer checks that performance graphs can show data but capacity graphs do not because they don't have data going far enough back.
