Monitoring Dell Compellent / Dell EMC OpenManage Plugin

Post by rkane »

Hi all, been banging my head against the wall for a day trying to make this Dell plugin for NagiosXI work
https://www.dell.com/support/article/us ... n#download

Spent 3 hours on the phone with the Dell premiere support folks yesterday. Their ultimate conclusion: 'must be a Nagios issue'

- I've installed the plugin correctly on NagiosXI
- I've pinged from NagiosXI --> Compellent and from Compellent --> NagiosXI

When I run the wizard it says "none of the IP addresses are reachable". When I do a standard SNMP walk wizard it only brings up OIDs for the Compellent VM itself (instead of the laundry list of storage OIDs I'm after).

HELP! :)

We don't have this equipment nor do we have the servers. the Wizard was written by Dell.

However

This looks like the SNMP on the Dell must be setup with some restrictions, it would have nothing to do specifically with Nagios, but could have a lot to do with that the user/community you are connecting with is allowed to see in the SNMP tree.

If you can share the wizard, I am willing to look at the code to see what might be giving the "none of the IP addresses are reachable" error.

Is there a mechanism other than forums to get customer support on this? IE: can I schedule a call and have someone at Nagios help me in real time until we get it working?
