Hello,
I'm running the latest NLS on a 64-bit VM CentOS 7 server.
I set up my first alert on NLS, and I established a NRDP connection to my Nagios XI server.
When I try to create a matching service in Nagios XI, I set active checks off, passive checks on, but leave the command blank.
It fails when applying the configuration.
Error: Service description, host name, or check command is NULL
What command should I execute, to (I think) do nothing?
Earl
Setting up my first alert
Re: Setting up my first alert
Check_dummy is usually used for passive check. https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf covers setting up passive checks in general(page 8 and 9 have details), but in this case you can disable the freshness option so that the dummy check should never execute but still fulfill the requirement of specifying a command.

Re: Setting up my first alert
Hello,
I have gotten the receiver service set up under Nagios XI. Thanks!
The NRDP service under "Inbound Transfers" is set up on my Nagios XI server.
The "Authentication Token" has been entered in NLS to establish a NRDP server.
The access to port 443 has been allowed on XI, and the address is using https//....../nrdp
I do not see the alert on my XI server.
Is there a log file I can check for more information?

OK, I found a configuration error.
It works now.
