Hi,
We have added service in scheduled downtime for 10min and stopped the service during that time.
Service enabled with both email and incident notification.
We have received email notification after blackout period but not received incident.
We should not receive email notification also, any reason why we have received email notification?
Kindly advice?
Maintenance mode issue
Re: Maintenance mode issue
Can you elaborate on the actual problem? What do you mean by the statement below?
Also, when you say:
Can you show us where this is configured?Service enabled with both email and incident notification.
Also, when you say:
what do you mean? Did you receive a CRITICAL notification or the service recovered? What kind of "incident" did you expect to receive? Are you using Nagios IM? It's not really clear what the issue is. It would help if you showed us the actual emails, screenshot of the State History and Notifications reports, nagios.log, etc.We have received email notification after blackout period but not received incident.
You shouldn't be receiving notifications during scheduled downtime, but after the downtime is over, you will be getting notifications. This is normal. Was the service still in scheduled downtime when you received the notification? We should not receive email notification also, any reason why we have received email notification?

Service is not in scheduled downtime when I receive email notification, I have received notification just after the maintenance window.lmiltchev wrote:Can you elaborate on the actual problem? Incident notification - Enabled incident creation in snow for Critical alerts using Event handler option under Check Settings tab.

Explained about both email and incident notifications above.

I have received email notification for Critical alert just after the maintenance window (at 11th minute)
but incident not created for the same.

Any reason why we are receiving email notification just after the maintenance for the alert which is generated during maintenance window ?
Re: Maintenance mode issue
Let's get some additional info, so that we can get to the bottom of this.I have received email notification for Critical alert just after the maintenance window (at 11th minute)
but incident not created for the same.
1. Go to the CCM > Services, click on the View config actions button next to your service, and copy/paste the config on the forum.
2. Go to Reports > State History, select the relevant time period (when the issue happened), select your Host, then your service from the drop-down menus, and click on Run. Show a screenshot of the page.
3. Do the same with the Notifications report and show a screenshot of the page.
4. Upload nagios.log that covers the same time period. You may need to grab an older log from the "/usr/local/nagios/var/archives" directory.
This is by design. When the scheduled downtime is over, Nagios Core will allow normal notifications to be sent out for the host or service again. Read our official documentation on scheduled downtime to see how downtime affects notifications here:Service is not in scheduled downtime when I receive email notification, I have received notification just after the maintenance window.

The service is in scheduled downtime from 10AM to 10:30AM if service is stopped around 10:15AM, I will not receive any email notification before 10:30AM. That is normal behaviour.
I started receiving same service (Critical alert) email notification around 10:31AM, is this expected ?
Kindly clarify this.
Re: Maintenance mode issue
Yes, your service is no longer in scheduled downtime, and it is still in CRITICAL state, so you will be getting notifications.I started receiving same service (Critical alert) email notification around 10:31AM, is this expected ?
