Monitoring Dell Servers using OM installed on Windows

Post by CAG1704 »

Hi Support,

We have a few servers that do not have iDRAC cards, thus we need to monitor the hardware of these servers using Dell OpenManage that has been installed on the Windows Server that is accessible via Server administrator.

Is there a Wizard that I can use that can use the IP assigned to the Server to access and monitor the Hardware via Dell OpenManage software?

Please advise.

Kind regards,

There is a Dell OpenManage Nagios XI Wizard on the Nagios Exchange:

https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/A ... rd/details

It's a few years old but you could give it a try. Download the zip file. Don't unzip it. Install it as you would any other wizard:
Admin > Manage Config Wizards > Browse > dellopenmanage.zip > Upload & Install

Hi there,

Thank you for the feedback.

I was able to load the Wizard successfully, however, we have a Dell R620 server that's not n the list. Only R610 and R630. I have selected both options, but am presented with a Warning in which it is unable to determine the PowerUnitstatus;

WARNING: StorageManagementGlobalSystemStatus=Non-Critical, systemStateGlobalSystemStatus=Non-Critical, systemStatePowerUnitStatusCombined=UKNOWN

Do you perhaps have any idea on how we can fix this?

Kind Regards,
Coenie

Hi there,

I have another server, also Dell R620 that I would like to monitor using this wizard, however, it returns the below Error for all 3 checks;

ERROR: Alarm signal (Nagios time-out)

I have tried different community strings and compared the Remote access configurations using Dell Open Manage Server Administrator, and they look the same.

Please advise?

Kind regards,

This is a 3rd party wizard, that is not developed or maintained by us (Nagios). I would recommend that you contact the wizard's owner (Box293) on the Nagios Exchange. He should be able to help.
