Upgrade from NagiosXI 5.5.11 to 5.6.3

Hi,
Recently upgraded from 5.5.11 to 5.6.3 on RHEL environment. the upgrade was successful but after logging into GUI i still see version as 5.5.11. i tried to upgrade again but it did nothing. so am i on Nagios XI 5.6.3 or 5.5.11?

How did you upgrade - from the GUI or from the CLI? Was this a RPM upgrade? Offline?

Can you post the entire upgrade.log?

What is the output of the following command?

we had an offline install of Nagios XI 5.6.3 using the tar ball from repo.nagios.com

Run the following commands and show the output:

You should have an upgrade log in the /tmp directory. Since, this is a RPM install, it's not going to be called "upgrade.log" but "xi-upgrade.log". Please, post the xi-upgrade.log on the forum.

It is possible that the upgrade failed for some reason, but because you had all these 5.6.3 RPMs already on the system, running the upgrade script for the second time didn't do a thing, and the xi-upgrade log didn't get created.

I believe you need to do the following:

1. Make sure you don't have any crashed tables / errors in the database. Run the db repair script:

/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh

2. Make sure that you can apply configuration BEFORE attempting another upgrade. If you have config errors, fix them, then proceed with the upgrade.

3. Upgrade to 5.6.4 by following the offline upgrade instructions here:

https://repo.nagios.com/?repo=offline

4. If the upgrade fails again, post the /tmp/xi-upgrade.log. This time it *should* get created.
