To add some more information for your investigation.

The servers/service checks in question are the ones whose names begin with DHHSISDxxxx and the Contact Group we're working with is named HealthContact.

For some reason, these servers which I added last week are not sending out any notification despite their Critical state.

Thank you.

I sent you a PM - we need a little bit more information. Having said that, I looked into some of the configs that begin with DHHSISDxxxx, and noticed that they have the following line in them:

Code: Select all

contact_groups null
So, the contactgroup is "null", and there is no contact added to the service...

Well, if you looked at the screenshot you posted, you would see that "Null" is selected on the bottom. Can you click on "Standard", then close, save, and apply configuration? Does it work now?

That's the first time I've ever seen a service check "default" to NULL.

Any idea why that would happen all of a sudden? I added the services the same way I always do.

That's strange... it appears the DHHSISDxxx service checks are set to NULL even on the ones that were already in the system prior to last week. I have no idea why they would be set that way. I copied existing checks to create the new ones so that explains why the new ones are setup that way.

Is there are way to make a mass change to correct that? I don't want any contact group for any service check set to NULL.

Go to the CCM > Toos > Bulk Modifications Tool > Add Contact Group(s), select HeathContact, click on "Select Services", search for "DHHSISDxxx" services > Add Selected > Close, click on "Standard" option > Save Changes. Apply Configuration.

Let us know if this helped.
