Hi
We run
CentOS 6.2 - latest v
Nagios XI - 2001R3.1
on a virtual machine, running under Windows Server 2008 R2 - Hyper V
It's a brand new install and so far we've had no issues whatsoever.
at present the issue is this - If we schedule a service to have recurring downtime, it all looks as though it's going to do it.
The scheduled service says that it's going to go start/fin at the correct time, the hostname is correct and the service that's going to go down is correct. All looks fine. ......but it never goes down. There is no "moon" symbol next to the service during the downtime, and the notifications continue to alert that the service has gone down.
We have deleted and recreated the service many times and it continues to NOT work.
ideas please
thanks
Jonathan

Re: Recurring Service Downtime not operational
The downtime doesn't trigger until Nagios first detects the problem while it is in downtime.
for example, if you have a host scheduled for downtime from 01:00 - 02:00 and the host state continues to be reachable, it will never trigger the downtime.
However, if at 1:14 the state goes critical, Nagios knows the checks to see if it is in downtime and starts the downtime then and does not send notifications..

Re: Recurring Service Downtime not operational
ok
but that is certainly not happening in this case
I have a SERVICE scheduled for downtime (Apache2) 3-5pm
at 3.15 I get an alert from the apache2 service and it's obvious that it's NOT gone into service downtime.
There is NO half moon symbol next to the service either.
Interestingly, I have tried this on 1 other machine and it's fine. It seems to be something particular to this service on this machine.
thanks
