Trying to monitor Eaton 9355 UPS
We recently discovered a really handy APC plugin for monitoring our APC UPS units, but we also have a few Eatons that we'd like to monitor as well. Does anyone know of any good Eaton monitoring plugins that will monitor the UPS over SNMP?
Re: Trying to monitor Eaton 9355 UPS
Looks like Powerware and Eaton are one and the same. Give one of these a shot.

Or you could probably spin up some good checks between our SNMP wizard and Eaton's documentation.

I've tried all the plugins on that list and all result int 'SNMP OID does not exist' errors. I also don't see any OIDs in that documentation that I could use to monitor via the SNMP wizard.
Re: Trying to monitor Eaton 9355 UPS
Here's another plugin that didn't come up in the previous search. It's also kind of old, but maybe it works better than the others? I would test it but I don't have an Eaton UPS to test against.

Re: Trying to monitor Eaton 9355 UPS
Yeah tried that one too and got the same issue. I feel like these should work but I'm just missing something. Is there a way to check that the MIBs were uploaded correctly to Nagios?
Re: Trying to monitor Eaton 9355 UPS
The MIBs should be in /usr/sharesnmp/mibs/ and should grant read access to everyone.
Assuming the device is using SNMPv2 and the public community, you can test out a walk of the MIB by running:
The https://www.eaton.com/content/dam/eaton ... 19.pdf.pdf document also lists OIDs in chapter 4, "MIB Objects".
Assuming the device is using SNMPv2 and the public community, you can test out a walk of the MIB by running:
Code: Select all
snmpwalk -v2c -c public -m /usr/share/snmp/mibs/<MIB-NAME> <Eaton_IP>As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

Try the wizard with some of those OIDs - they will work even if the Mib isnt loaded

Re: Trying to monitor Eaton 9355 UPS
I've done snmp walks on it and I get a bunch of results but have no idea which of them are giving me the results I want. I've attached a screenshot of what the majority of the objects look like via SNMP walk.
