Hi I am running Nagios XI 5.6.2 from VMWare on Windows 10 PC, currently only monitoring a single windows 10 PC as we finalise configurations.
The target system environment will not support either email or SMS integration, so I am looking for mechanisms to integrate with an existing system for displaying alerts to a maintainer.
I have some flexibility in how this is done, but essentially any Service with a Status that isnt Ok should result in the external system receiving the alert information, together with a corresponding alert when it returns to Ok. I have been looking at using a trap interface, but are there alternatives to this approach? or if I use a trap interface is there a mechanism to simply configure XI to raise an alert for all configured services?
ideally I would not want to have to change this generic information if a new host or service was added
Thanks for your help
Chris

Re: External System integration
Probably the easiest if it is global would be to use the
Admin -> Manage Components -> Global Event Handlers
to run a script that interacts with your external system
