NCPA Wizard - network interface metrics

Post by solarmon »

Hi,

When using the NCPA wizard and getting it to create services for Network Interface Metrics it creates two services for each interface - one for inbound (packets_recv) and one for outbound (packets_sent).

Is there a way to have both in one service - so that the performance graph for it shows both packets_recv and packets_sent?

Hi @scottwilkerson,

That is a real shame. When creating NagVis diagrams and using line objects I would need to create two lines, one for inbound and one for outbound.

The interface service created by the Switch/Router wizard does have combined stats - but I'm aware that it makes use of MRTG and RRD files to achieve that.I only need to create line line for that in NagVis.

Are there any plans in the roadmap to combine the stats, or provide an option to do so?

I don't believe there were but you can make a feature request here

I think it sounds like a good idea
