blocking users to restart Nagios²

Post by sigmainformatique »

Hi Nagios team,

In my company, each technical user can modify and apply configurations in CCM.

At this time, we are at about 20 restart per day, due to configuration changes.

We want to have only 2 or 3 restart by a day.

Is it possible that users can check their config without restarting Nagios?
In this scenario, configuration will only be writed on disk, and applied when nagios restart (on scheduled restart).

Tried to disable "Can access monitoring engine" in security settings of user management, but user can bypass and restart Nagios by applying a configuration in CCM.

Regards

Yes, head to the Core Config Manager. In the left menu go to Config File Management. Click the Delete Files, then Write Configs, and then Verify Files. When you're ready to apply all of the changes, click the Restart Nagios Core button.

Unfortunately no. It's either you have the ability to make changes, or you don't. And the Apply Configuration button is part of making changes.
