I need to be able to monitor my local storage system (Power Vault MD3420 - Raid controller). How do I monitor them via Nagios Xi?

There are not any built in plugin's on an Nagios XI server that can monitor your raid controller so you would have to search for a 3rd party plugin that could work for your needs.
The Nagios Exchange site would be a good place to start the search.

If the PowerVault server has SNMP enabled on it, you could use the SNMP Walk Wizard to monitor it.
